Artificial intelligence and its influence on students' academic performance

Abstract

La inteligencia artificial consiste en intentar que los ordenadores piensen y actúen como los humanos, múltiples son las evidencias que denotan una repentina y acelerada adecuación de sus herramientas dentro de muchos ámbitos, el educativo entre ellos, en este ensayo se busca abordar y brindar una reflexión sobre la incidencia que han tenido las herramientas de la IA en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes, mediante la búsqueda y análisis de información relevante en la que se vean resaltados sus antecedentes más contundentes, sus características, las ventajas, las desventajas, sus implicaciones y los cuestionamientos más importantes y que de esta forma se pueda contar con un amplio panorama de lo que este tema conlleva, haciéndonos sabedores de que el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes se ve influenciado positiva o negativamente, dependiendo de las perspectivas y la dinámica social que se vive en cada contexto educativo. Estas tecnologías entraron con un buen apoyo y aceptación social, pero el trabajo que se necesita para aprovechar sus funciones es muy arduo, implicaría una sociedad moderna, revolucionaria, y de mente abierta que no tenga miedo a convivir entre máquinas y delegar funciones a ellas.

ABSTRACT

Artificial intelligence consists of trying to make computers think and act like humans, there is multiple evidence that denotes a sudden and accelerated adaptation of its tools within many areas, education among them, this essay seeks to address and provide a reflection on the impact that AI tools have had on the academic performance of students, through the search and analysis of relevant information in which their most compelling antecedents, their characteristics, advantages, disadvantages, implications and the most important questions and that in this way we can have a broad overview of what this topic entails, making us aware that the academic performance of students is influenced positively or negatively, depending on the perspectives and social dynamics that are present. lives in every educational context. These technologies entered with good support and social acceptance, but the work needed to take advantage of their functions is very arduous; it would imply a modern, revolutionary, and open-minded society that is not afraid to live among machines and delegate functions to them.
