In recent decades, global environmental problems have intensified the need to promote sustainable awareness, a multidimensional concept that seeks to encourage participation in the conservation of the planet and the rational use of its natural resources. The objective of the research is to develop a pedagogical tool based on PBL that mainstreams the areas of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Language and Literature, , Social Sciences, Cultural and Artistic Education, and Physical Education in Basic General Education (EGB), to develop sustainable awareness in students. It is based on a mixed methodology, with an exploratory and descriptive scope. The sample was 34 EGB students from the “Dra. Guadalupe Larriva González”, from a population of 100. The application of the questionnaire, already validated, was carried out in the 2023-2024 academic year to students from 5th to 7th grade. The pedagogical tool was validated by experts from various disciplines, it is adaptable to environmental projects and other areas of the curriculum. It is highlighted that the majority of students consider themselves to have basic skills integrated into the cognitive, conative and active dimensions of sustainable consciousness. The research can serve as a basis for future research in public educational units in Ecuador.
