The nutritional status of adolescent students is fundamental to understanding their holistic development and overall well-being. During this transitional stage, marked by physical, hormonal, and psychological changes, adequate nutrition is essential for promoting growth, academic performance, and preventing future illnesses. This research aims to diagnose the nutritional status and its relationship to the eating habits of students at the Mario Oña Perdomo school in the city of San Gabriel. The research employed a descriptive approach with a quantitative focus, allowing for the collection and analysis of statistical data. The majority of students have a weight and height within an average range (59%). A significant number of students (26%) are underweight and underweight, while a smaller number (15%) are overweight and overweight. Although most students understand basic concepts of nutrition, balanced diet, and hydration, this knowledge does not always translate into healthy practices. Inadequate habits were found, such as skipping breakfast, low consumption of protein and vegetables, and a preference for fast food. Implementing health promotion and nutrition education programs is essential to improving eating habits and preventing nutrition-related problems at this stage of life. It is recommended that nutrition topics be integrated into school curricula, promoting active learning and reflection on food choices.
