Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming various sectors, including education, by enhancing decision-making and information management. Its integration into education is changing pedagogical practices and educator training, requiring educators to develop digital competencies to adapt to the modern educational environment. These competencies include technical skills, online security, and digital tool design. Although AI provides advanced resources like learning platforms and virtual tutors, educators face significant challenges in effectively integrating these technologies into their teaching methods due to a lack of understanding and methodological resources. This study examines how AI can enhance educators' digital competencies and optimize its implementation in professional development programs. The systematic review covers articles published between 2019 and 2024 and employs the PRISMA methodology to select relevant studies. Reviewed studies highlight the importance of combining technology with traditional methods and developing evidence-based guidelines. Tools like chatbots and personalized learning platforms help improve these competencies. AI also poses ethical dilemmas, requiring strategies to promote ethical and effective use of technology. The systematic review reveals that while AI offers significant opportunities, it also presents complex challenges that require proper training and well-structured educational policies.
