Capacity building in local development: lessons from the Abreus Municipal University Center

The formation of capacities in local development: lessons from the Abreus Municipal University Center, has the objective of analyzing the aspects that affect the application of Government management based on science and innovation, based on the regularities of the diagnosis, determining the issues in the formation of capacities, and the perspectives, after the results of the diagnosis, by the Abreus Municipal University Center, as an institution that trains capacities in local development. Materials and methods: algorithm in three moments: theoretical analysis, exploration/diagnosis, results; descriptive explanatory, non-experimental study. Conclusions: The analysis corroborated potentialities and weaknesses, in the diagnosis, the establishment of regularities, in: links between actors, capacity building, practical application of capacities in government management. The Abreus Municipal University Center is identified as a university institution that trains capacities in local development, based on the mission and vision that directs its relations with the municipal government, in the organization of science with the determination of lines of research that respond to the needs of the territory, being a doer in the application of the Policy to promote Territorial Development, by contributing to interdisciplinary and intersectoral relationships in the formation of capacities.
