The Ecuadorian State seeks to undertake educational processes that generate a favorable impact on society. To achieve this, the Ministry of Education has established actions aimed at measuring the satisfactory level of quality standards and subsequent monitoring of them. This research aims to analyze the feasibility of a follow-up audit, using an external evaluation approach to the 2019 Regular General Audit, through contextualization based on official guidelines for assessing the quality standards observed at the Vicente Anda Aguirre Educational Unit, which serves as the study site. The methodology uses a qualitative, non-experimental approach and is aligned with the interpretive paradigm, allowing for an observation of the institutional reality without modifying any aspect. Information was collected through interviews with three experts in Educational Auditing, yielding favorable results indicating that an external audit would be appropriate if the institutional evaluation needs are thoroughly compiled. It is concluded that the development of a guide for external evaluation would allow the institutional reality to advance toward constant improvement and achieve educational quality.
