Educational inclusion seeks to increase access and participation for all in education and reduce manifestations of exclusion and discriminatory practices, although it faces significant challenges at the national and international levels. Therefore, it is emphasized that schools identify these challenges in order to respond to students' needs. This requires this research, with a mixed approach, descriptive scope, and non-experimental design. The objective is to scientifically evaluate the dimensions of educational inclusion in Ecuadorian elementary schools, in order to identify challenges and propose improvements that will have a positive impact on educational inclusion. The results demonstrate the instrument's usefulness in scientifically assessing inclusive education; they identify challenges related to specific training, collaborative work, institutional culture, policies and regulations, and curricular updating; and they offer a general proposal for building more equitable schools, promoting reflection and constructive dialogue, which can be creatively adapted to each institution's context. It is recognized as a limitation that the study focused on teachers from urban institutions, which can serve as a starting point for future research in rural institutions and other members of the educational community.
