Estimados lectores:
La evaluación es un elemento clave del proceso formativo por las implicaciones que tiene para el estudiante, el docente, el sistema educativo y la sociedad. Esta categoría didáctica permite analizar el desarrollo óptimo de los procesos de aprendizaje y el desarrollo personal de los estudiantes. La evaluación educativa debe concebirse a partir de los aprendizajes y competencias, teniendo en cuenta sus circunstancias personales y donde se propicie el crecimiento cognitivo y la promoción en cualquiera de los niveles y etapas del sistema educativo, mediante el logro de los aprendizajes y la adquisición de las competencias básicas.
La evaluación fundamentada en competencias requiere obtener información de todos los aspectos que conforman el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje: cognitivos (saber), técnicos (saber hacer) y metacognitivos (saber por qué lo hace). En este contexto competencia se entiende como el conocimiento, las actitudes y las destrezas necesarias para solucionar tareas propias en cada materia y en la vida cotidiana.
El Consejo Editorial de la Revista Mexicana de Investigación e Intervención Educativa ha decidido en este número hacer especial énfasis en la evaluación educativa de aprendizajes y competencias. Agradecemos a autores y revisores por sus aportes. Asimismo, exhortamos a los lectores a citar estas contribuciones y enviar sus manuscritos para números futuros.
