This article presents the results of an educational research study focused on the impact of pedagogical support in strengthening the teaching and learning of mathematics at the secondary education level. The study was grounded in addressing the needs of students who require specific educational support, using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework as the guiding approach for eliminating Barriers to Learning and Participation (BLP), in accordance with the principles of the New Mexican School model. The methodology was based on a qualitative and participatory action research approach, involving interventions in instructional planning to transition from homogeneous teaching models to flexible and inclusive strategies. The results demonstrate that the implementation of integrative learning activities and the use of manipulative materials enhance both teachers’ confidence and students’ academic performance in mathematics. It is concluded that systematic pedagogical support is essential for ensuring educational equity and maximizing learning achievement in this disciplinary field.
